"As a former student-athlete and current boy's varsity high school basketball coach, I feel compelled to share Morgan's Message. The At-Large Ambassador Program has given me the tools to model vulnerability to these young gentlemen. I constantly remind them that "It's OK not to be OK" because, as coaches, we have a responsibility that is much greater than winning games, but also molding future generations to pass along the values that matter and feel supported along the way."
"After battling an ACL injury, I started a Morgan's Message chapter at my University during my senior year to help normalize the conversation about mental health. Shortly after, I graduated college and wished I had more time to continue the conversation. To my surprise, I then found out about the At-Large Ambassador Program and was so excited to be able to stay involved with Morgan's Message post-graduation. The At-Large program is a safe space for retired student-athletes, family and friends, professionals, coaches, school administrators, and mental health advocates who want to continue the fight to destigmatize mental health. I love being a part of this community that uplifts and supports one another. Together, we can continue to spread awareness and resources to help the student-athlete community better. I highly encourage others to join this fantastic community!"
Morgan’s Message® At-Large Ambassador, Former Student-Athlete
"When we launched Morgan's Message on the first anniversary of Morgan's passing, we never could have imagined the impact and growth the program would experience. We are unbelievably proud of our staff, Ambassadors, and supporters and can't wait to see the At-Large Ambassador Program thrive and reach more communities. We have a wonderful group of Directors who have spent the past year piloting this program to make sure it's just right -- let me tell you, they crushed it! As an organization, we are proud to reach a wider range of people to continue spreading mental health awareness in athletics and beyond."
